Arlington ISD Review of Devil Doll
Devil Doll is part of the Haunted History series by Bearport Publishing. It has a table of contents, glossary, other museum mysteries and index. The publisher describes it as, “The Warren’s Occult Museum is full of many mysterious and downright terrifying artifacts. So, it might be easy to overlook one of its most dangerous possessions—a truly evil doll.” Students will be drawn to the graphic novel format and the mention of “Annabelle.” However, my older students will look at the book and giggle. The illustrations are more fitting for primary students, not grades 3-6. The Warren’s run an occult museum. One of their most famous attractions is the devil doll Annabelle. It does give you more information about her origin and background. The book just is not terrifying or dangerous.
